Buckinghamshire Archery Association

Buckinghamshire Archery Association (BAA) is a volunteer organisation, part of the national Archery GB structure, providing support and services to its affiliated clubs and members.

When you join an affiliated club, you become a member of the Buckinghamshire Archery Association.

Buckinghamshire Archery Association promotes archery in a variety of ways including helping new archers find clubs, helping clubs themselves, developing coaches and promoting performance archery.  â€‹

The Association has two main aims:

1) The promotion, encouragement and co-ordination of archery throughout the County of Buckinghamshire.

2) To be an integral part of the governance structure for archery for the National Governing Body (Archery GB - AGB) and the Region (Southern Counties Archery Society – SCAS)

BAA delivers these aims by:

Providing a forum for clubs to share ideas & issues (at quarterly Committee meetings)

Encouraging competition by organising and running the County Championships (target and field)

Encouraging higher level competition by selecting county squads for regional and national competitions.

Maintaining the County Records

Presenting county recognition awards to volunteers, county champions and the county team at the AGM

Subsidising the county championships if required

Providing the communications interface to/from AGB and to/from SCAS

Encouraging competition by organising and running a county postal and ranking competition.

Organising coaching courses at venues within the county to help archers develop their shooting.

Providing the medals and trophies for County Championships

Providing grants, support and development opportunities for coaches

Paying the entry fees for archers selected to represent Buckinghamshire in competition

Provision of County shirts for those selected to represent BAA in competition

Running a website and Facebook page to share information of county events and club news

Representing the county at SCAS Council Meetings

Providing the county level governance for the Complaints, Disciplinary & Safeguarding processes

Buckinghamshire Archery Association receives no funding from AGB or SCAS. All activities are funded from the BAA annual membership fee (currently £6 for adult members) and from tournament fees.

All matters within the Buckinghamshire Archery Association are run by the Committee that meets four time a year.

The Committee consists of Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Records Officer, Tournament Organisers, Coaching Coordinator, Equipment Officer, Match Organiser, SCAS Rep and a representative from each member club.

In addition, an Annual General Meeting is held once a year.

The business of the Association is governed by the Constitution.
