Bucks Show Off New Kit at SCAS Inter-Counties

Bucks fielded full teams in recurve, barebow, compound and longbow at the SCAS inter-counties competition on 24th July. We also had, for the first time, a junior archer representing the county. The team sported the new county shirt, which received admiring comments from other counties. The match report below is from Paul Field:

It started as a day promising little. Rain throughout the journey there and during setting up with a forecast suggesting more of the same. However the rain stopped just before sighters and that was the last we saw of it for the day.

The field was big with 37 bosses and around 120 archers of all ages representing 10 counties.

Our own team of 12 covered all bow types and ranged from 10 to 60+ in age. Two rounds of up to WA70 in a day are hard work, for those who could make both, and while across the field in the morning there was a sense of enthusiasm for both the archery and friends not seen in too long by the afternoon it was quieter. We didn't finish shooting the second round until after 6pm and by the time we finished the awards it was after 7pm. Sadly there were no awards for us but everyone seemed keen to have another go next year.

Congratulations to all of our team members:

Recurve: Adele Baines, Paul Ceurvorst, Paul Davies, Kevin Jones, Bilaal Mohammad

Longbow: Paul Field, Jon O'Keeffe

Compound: Paul Birch, Simon Gunnell

Barebow: Tan Quach, Imran Rehman
