County Team Selection - Outdoor 2025 season

Hello to all competing archers!

With the first outdoor competitions of the year now under way I wanted to remind you of the new county team selection policy.

Historically Buckinghamshire Archery Association (BAA) has struggled to field complete teams for events which puts us at an immediate disadvantage to the other counties taking part. It was felt that part of the problem was that the old selection procedure was not working as well as it might.

The new procedure is:

Archers enter competitions as usual.

Archers submit their Bowman 3rd class and above competition scores to county.

All BAA archers shooting Bowman 3rd Class and above scores at tournaments are encouraged to enter their scores. This should be done shortly after each competition so that scores are kept up to date.

Archers will need to submit 3 scores before they are eligible for team selection. As this is a new system and to build some early history, archers are invited to enter up to two scores from competitions shot last year so that they have 3 qualifying scores once they submit their first score this year.

There is no limit to the number of scores an archer can submit and consistent recent scores may be significant for selection.

Eligible rounds are any age/gender appropriate round.

The team manager will contact those eligible directly according to rankings to check availability for upcoming matches and events.

To ensure that selection is fair, open and transparent, selection will be via information submitted by the form only.

The form can be found here and on the county website.

Details of upcoming County Matches and Tournaments, together with relevant dates and any additional eligibility requirements will also be published on the website.

Thanks.
